I choose to create my portraits in colored pencils, as they allow for accuracy, depth and details. I enjoy the timely process, from building up layers, to recreating the various textures, all through the controlled application of every delicate pencil stroke. Bringing the subject to life on the paper, through intricate techniques and patience is a gratifying process. I consider my work to be a balance between photo realism and a classic delicate drawing style and it’s important for me that it holds an element of photo realism, but can still be recognized as a colored pencil drawing.
